Heart of the Community Foundation Presents AEDs to the Rome Fire Department
At the City Commissioner meeting Monday night, June 1st, the Heart of the Community Foundation presented the Rome Fire Department with five Automatic External Defibrilators (AEDs). These will be placed in staff cars who work as First Responders in emergency events.
Fire Chief Gordon Henderson says, We appreciate the Heart of the Community donating these AEDs to the Fire Department. This will allow us to better distribute these units throughout our vehicles to better meet the needs of our community.
The Heart of the Community Foundation works to improve health and promote education in the Rome and Floyd community. It has provided the community with the construction of the Heart House at Redmond Regional Medical Center, construction of the Serenity Garden at Redmond Regional Medical Center, creation of the Par Course Fitness Center at Ridge Ferry Park and has distributed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the Community.
